| Description: | Thought to be from the 1970s, this historic image provided by the Center for Disease Control's (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), depicted the interior of an industrial factory outfitted with numerous exhaust ventilation units intimately associated with the unidentified processing machinery. This type of exhaust system, with its intake vent so closely situated with the process, is much more effective in keeping the interior factory air free of potentially unhealthy particulates. Also of note is the well-lit factory environment, minimizing eye-strain, and accidents due to poorly lit quarters. |
